    COOL!

  4. This isn’t fake folks. I have seen this first hand. A pal of mine got hypnotised at one of those shows. The guy hypnotising him got him to do all sorts of funny things. When he came out of his trance he didn’t remember anything at all and thought he was still waiting to be hypnotised. Incredible stuff

    so full of shittttttt

  9. Very cool!

  10. This kind of hypnosis actually works.. because the hypnothee doesn’t want to disapoint the hypnothist. They are convinced the therapist has some power over them, and that in combination with the social pressure will make it a lot easier to just comply to his wishes than to resist them. And is there any difference of being convinced you’re hypnotised than “real” hypnosis? For any information regarding the subject i would recommend “trancework” by M. Yapko. Scientific, but still a nice read

  11. is hypnosis a good treatment for a fear of flying?

actually yes if the timing is correct. Like I said you could buck up and try it for yourself, prove how tuff you are…I get clients like you all the time and have special ways of dealing with them. If they show real resistence I make them cry in hypnosis just to crush their massive egos, Ignorance of the laws of nature is not an acceptable argument. Your mind works in certain ways and hypnosis has been around for 200 years, but the only way to know for yourself is to TRY it.

actually its a controlled redirection in the video, which is what you were talking about, He does not usually use this technique in a first session with a client, I don’t either, but it is capable of working…but if you really want to see some neat hypnosis related stuff type in Derren Brown and enjoy the reality of how your mind really works. I like the one when he creates temporary insanity in a guy.

sooooo what your saying if i am driving my car down the road and all a sudden a dump truck pulls out in front of me (rapid redirection of attention) and my passenger says “sleep” i will just go out?? come on….this is not real. Maybe we can go to another level of peace through calm talk and nice thoughts, but thats it….no one is going to be able to put me out….sorry not happening.

He explains the rapid redirection of attention, which allows the subconscious mind to come forward so you can give the suggestion “sleep” it’s easy and can help if your willing to try. We (hypnotists) do this stuff for a living and there’s a chance a professional hypnotist works near you if you want to look further into it or maybe enter trance yourself.
